Luigi wins a mysterious mansion in a contest he never entered, much to his surprise. Upon arriving at the mansion he finds it haunted and his brother, Mario has gone missing. Luigi meets Professor E. Gadd, a scientist who explains that the mansion is haunted by ghosts. E. Gadd gives Luigi the Poltergust 3000, a hoover cleaner specially designed to catch them. Luigi goes into the mansion and begins to search for Mario. He wanders through the various rooms, meeting stronger and stronger ghosts, and discovers that the mansion and its supernatural inhabitants are part of a much larger mystery.

Luigi’s Mansion mixes exploration, puzzle-solving, ghost-hunting, and light action.
