Story

Unlike the main console version of Modern Warfare 3, Defiance tells a separate companion story set within the same broader conflict. Its missions help expand the events surrounding the Modern Warfare storyline.
Gameplay
The game uses a first-person perspective, allowing players to aim weapons, engage enemy soldiers, and complete mission objectives. Its gameplay combines traditional shooting mechanics with sniper encounters, tactical combat, and selected vehicle-based sequences. The Nintendo DS touchscreen provides additional control functions, including aiming and weapon-related interactions.
Players can choose from Campaign, Quick Play, and Challenge Mode, with the campaign featuring 14 missions and the challenge mode offering additional objectives.
Multiplayer includes modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Sabotage, Gun Game, Sharpshooter, and One in the Chamber. Local multiplayer was designed for nearby players, while the original online service is no longer available following the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection shutdown.
