The story follows a street racer who is trying to make a name for himself in the underground racing scene of Los Angeles.
Upon arriving in Los Angeles, your character starts racing against the local competition and works his way up to become one of the town's most respected drivers. By winning races you get faster vehicles, tougher opponents, and tougher events.
The more your reputation grows, the fiercer the competition becomes. You have to earn your stripes by racing against all sorts of other racers, discovering the city, and learning the quickest ways to get from one place to another.
The game also adds a distinct Tokyo experience. It offers a distinct setting and racing ambiance, enhancing the PSP version's diversity over a game limited to a single city.
The story mainly serves to advance the racing progression. The main goal is to build up your reputation, unlock vehicles, beat your rivals, and become the dominant street racer.
