Gex: Enter the Gecko is a classic 3D platformer developed by Crystal Dynamics and released on the PlayStation in 1998. It is the sequel to Gex, expanding the series into a larger 3D adventure filled with themed worlds, collectibles, enemies, platforming challenges, and plenty of television-inspired humor.
You control Gex, a wisecracking gecko who is sucked back into the world of television by his arch-nemesis, Rez. Gex must travel through a number of strange and colorful TV-themed stages to stop Rez, using his powers to defeat enemies, collect items and discover hidden areas.
The game mixes classic platforming with exploration and fighting. Gex can scale walls, attack enemies using his tail, interact with objects and traverse environments based on various television genres using his tongue.

Story
Gex finds himself sucked into the world of television once again and the adventure begins.
Gex would rather stay at home and watch television, but his nemesis Rez returns, interrupting his peaceful life. Rez has plans of his own for the Media Dimension, and wants to use Gex as part of his scheme.
Gex is transported to the Media Dimension, and must travel through several TV-inspired lands in an effort to stop Rez.
During the game Gex visits locations based on themes such as horror, science fiction, cartoons, pre-historic adventures and other popular forms of entertainment. Each world has its own visual style, enemies, hazards, and challenges.
Part of the presentation of the game is Gex's sarcastic personality and constant television references. His commentary adds a comedic aspect to the adventure, while the core gameplay is focused on platforming and exploration.
Gameplay
Gex: Enter the Gecko is a 3D platformer that focuses on exploration, jumping, combat and collecting items.
Each level is a fairly open environment for players to search for collectibles and complete objectives. Instead of just running from start to finish of a stage, players are encouraged to explore different areas.
Gex has a few powers to help him traverse these environments. He can jump over platforms, climb certain surfaces, attack enemies, and interact with objects.
The level design also takes advantage of Gex’s TV-based personality. Each stage has a different atmosphere as different worlds parody or refer to familiar television genres.
