The story of Super Smash Bros. Melee is a cute and creative one. A child’s imagination brings classic Nintendo action figures to life. In the opening cinematic of the game, a mysterious being called Master Hand arranges various Nintendo character trophies on a desk. With a snap of their fingers these frozen figures come to life as living, breathing fighters ready to fight on dynamic stages based on their iconic home universes. There’s no traditional linear campaign in the game, but the story evolves in Adventure Mode. Players will receive an action-packed tour of classic Nintendo worlds hopping through the Mushroom Kingdom, traversing the underground labyrinths of Hyrule, escaping rising lava on Planet Zebes and dogfighting atop starships in Corneria. All of the stages are little winks to franchises like Super Mario , The Legend of Zelda , Metroid , and Pokémon . The main objective of the tournament is to reach the final arena and battle the evil genius of the entire Smash universe, Master Hand. Players must also survive the chaotic assault of Crazy Hand, as well as face off against the terrifying Giga Bowser a mutated, monstrous version of the Koopa King that serves as the ultimate secret boss test of your fighting skills on higher difficulty settings.

Super Smash Bros gameplay Melee does away with the classic health bars , and introduces a damage percentage system instead . When a fighter is hit , they fly away from the attack . The more damage they have taken , the farther they fly . The goal is to get the other fighters to fly off of the arena ( screen ) . Players can choose from 26 different Nintendo characters and play chaotic 4-player local multiplayer matches or enjoy a wealth of single-player content such as Adventure, Classic and All-Star modes. Melee is famous for its lightning fast physics along with deep competitive mechanics such as Wavedashing and L-canceling, making it a masterpiece for both casual couch gaming and hardcore competitive tournaments.
