Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a role-playing game (RPG) for the Nintendo DS developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo. Released in 2005, the second game in the popular Mario & Luigi series has the grown-up Mario Bros teaming up with their younger selves in an exciting time-traveling adventure. When Princess Peach tries out Professor E. Gadd's new time machine, she vanishes! And this sends the peaceful Mushroom Kingdom into disarray. Mario and Luigi go back in time to rescue her, but find the kingdom has been invaded by the strange alien race known as the Shroobs. Along the way the brothers join forces with Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, creating a quartet of heroes prepared to repel the invasion. They travel through time to rescue captured Toads, fight powerful foes and uncover the Shroobs’ plan to invade the Mushroom Kingdom. As the adventure unfolds, the heroes will face dangerous bosses, solve ancient mysteries and work together to restore peace before history is changed forever.

Gameplay

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time blends exploration, puzzle-solving and turn-based RPG combat with elements of real-time action. You control all four heroes simultaneously, using their individual abilities to bypass obstacles, activate mechanisms and reveal hidden secrets. The fighting is very interactive but turn based. Players press buttons at the right time to perform stronger attacks, dodge enemy attacks and perform powerful Bros. Things which require all four characters to work together. Timing is key to more damage and reward skilful play. As you progress you will collect coins, gear, badges and items to upgrade the skills of each of the characters. Hidden collectibles, optional challenges, and entertaining mini-games add replay value, while creative level design keeps exploration fresh throughout the adventure.
