Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies was released in Japan in 2009, and internationally in 2010, and is the ninth main game in the legendary Dragon Quest series. It has a fully customisable hero system, turn-based battles, character classes, equipment upgrades, and a massive fantasy world full of quests and monsters.
Unlike previous Dragon Quest titles, players create their own main character by choosing appearance, clothing, and abilities. Throughout the adventure you can recruit a team of companions, change vocations, find powerful equipment and complete hundreds of optional quests.
With its deep RPG mechanics, charming artwork, memorable characters, and huge amount of content, Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies became one of the most popular Nintendo DS RPGs and remains a favorite among fans of classic Japanese role-playing games.

The story begins with the player taking the role of a Celestrian, a guardian angel-like being who watches over the mortal world from the heavenly realm known as the Observatory.
After a mysterious disaster destroys the connection between the Celestrians and the mortal world, the protagonist loses their celestial powers and falls to the land below. To return home, the hero must collect magical fruits called Fyggs, which have been scattered across the world.
During the journey, players explore villages, kingdoms, caves, and dangerous areas while helping people in need and uncovering the secrets behind the disaster. Along the way, they discover the truth about the Celestrians, the mortal world, and a powerful enemy threatening both realms.
