Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a puzzle-adventure video game developed by Level-5 and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. Released in 2007, it is the first game in the popular Professor Layton series, introducing the players to the brilliant archaeologist and puzzle expert Professor Hershel Layton and his young assistant Luke Triton.

Story
Baron Augustus Reinhold, a wealthy man, writes to Professor Layton and his apprentice Luke Triton asking them to investigate the mysterious Curious Village of St. Mystere.
The village has a strange secret. The Baron’s will states that whoever finds the hidden treasure of St. Mystere will inherit his fortune. But where the treasure is, is a mystery, and the villagers are concealing some vital facts.
As Layton and Luke explore the village, they encounter unusual residents, strange mysteries, and countless puzzles that reveal pieces of the truth. Their investigation slowly uncovers the hidden history of St. Mystere and the mystery behind the legendary treasure.
